McLaren Season 11 Recap

Season 11 is over and it’s time for another end of season update.

F1 Season
The third F1 season was the most exiting by now. We have a new champion, Philippe de Saint-Germain Jr of Red Bull, who beat OMR’s Andre Acarini by one point and could claim his victory in the last race of the season. Red Bull profited by their bold decision to build a whole new engine and had the fastest car in the last races of the season. Old and new Constructors champion is OMR.

We had 7 race winners this season from 4 different teams. Red Bull, Mercedes, OMR and Jordan were the best teams as it was in Season 10. Shortly after these teams there was McLaren, followed closely by Sempre Senna Racing who did improve significantly.

The DACH (German, Austrian and Swiss) teams had an exciting season as well and could surprisingly collect a nice amount of points, especially in the tactic dominated rain races. Trabant driver Schnell could claim a Top 5 finish, Adler of Trabant and Artmann of LKR could break into the Top 10 twice this season. Williams made a big step up, Kauria was a big improvement in the driver seat, he was able to collect 18 points, while other Williams driver Laine collected 12.

The next season is going to be exciting with Red Bull’s new driver Tök. The hungarian drove for Windsor last season and could only collect 2 points. Although he could only collect few points in the last season, he should be fast enough to get good positions in the faster Red Bull.
Matas Jukna switches from Europe to Windsor while Guido Di Rado has his comeback with a new car, Team Europe is his destination. Ferrari switches both drivers, David Marko and Vili Suchar will make their F1 debut with a Minardi engine, but a brand new engine is in the pipeline.

McLarens Season
Everything considered we had the best season so far. Like in Season 10 we could finish at 5th position in team standings with 159 points (112 points in Season 10). Sadly for us the gap to the teams in front of us is quite big and other than the better teams we could not claim a race victory yet. Both our drivers could improve, Szabo finished 9th with 91 points, while Freiverts finished 10th with 68 points.

Besides that we could improve fan base and rating while the team income was more or less the same as in the previous season:

Income: 49.3 million (Season 10: 50.1 million)
Team Rating: 1,155 (Season 10: 1,063)
Fans: 102 (Season 10: 77)

McLaren in Season 12
In Season 12 we won’t be making any changes, both Szabo and Freiverts will drive for McLaren.

McLaren owners
Long time McLaren owner USSFSteeler is going to leave the game and gave his shares back. Thank you for your efforts in the team, thanks for your donations and voting points. Have a great time outside of the game and only the best for the future! Azureika joined McLaren owners in Season 11 but sadly could not find the time to participate, so he gave his shares back. But we will stay in contact, best luck to you in MRC!

McLaren Fans
A big thank you again to our fans, we could improve our fanbase from 77 in Season 10 to 102 in Season 11, which is quite a huge leap. A special thank you to everyone who donated points this season, especially to our donators at a regular basis. Please keep it up, we need every point to convert it into money which should lead to better race results. :-)
