Taruffi di nuovo campione WPS!

Pieretto Taruffi si laurea campione WPS con una gara d'anticipo! Il pilota italiano, già campione hypercar nella stagione 57, si riconferma anche nella stagione 58 dimostrando di essere il re incontrastato degli endurance. La stagione non è in ogni caso come quella passata che si concluse con un vero e proprio dominio: la concorrenza di Moore e Blake, due vere spine nel fianco, è veramente aggressiva; entrambi i piloti finiscono costantemente a punti e, a causa di due ritiri per noie meccaniche di Taruffi, in alcune parti della stagione si trova costretto ad inseguire in classifica generale. Blake in particolare appare molto veloce in gara, ma pecca un po' di inesperienza facendo alcuni errori strategici importanti come nella decisiva gara australiana di Sandown 800 che, di fatto, consegna a Pieretto nuovamente il titolo. Stagione comunque da incorniciare per Taruffi, con 8 vittorie e 12 podi su 14 gare finora corse, fra cui la prestigiosa vittoria nella Le Mans 1500 per la quale sono previsti punti doppi. Pecca un po' in qualifica dove le pole sono solo 2, ma in gara le strategie sono sempre perfette e il ritmo sempre elevato. Da evidenziare come, nonostante 8 vittorie possano sembrare un dominio, le gare sono sempre state molto combatture con distacchi assai risicati, in particolare tra i tre piloti sopracitati con qualche incursione saltuaria di Romandov. "Sono felicissimo per questa vittoria! Come già dimostrato in World GT Series sono un amante delle strategie e delle gare di lunga durata. Ringrazio inoltre il team Pegaso per il supporto e per il quale ritornerò a correre nella massima serie automobilistica la prossima stagione!" sono le parole dette a caldo dopo la festa sul podio. Come anticipato in questa breve intervista, Taruffi tornerà a rappresentare l'Italia in F1 nella stagione 59, portando esperienza e tanta buona volontà all'interno del team Pegaso che tanto si sta impegnando per scalare in futuro la classifica generale. Che dire, rimaniamo concentrati per l'ultima gara in Bahrain e per il finale di stagione in Nation dove fino ad ora Taruffi è stato autore di 2 vittorie e 4 podi, cui si aggiungono innumerevoli piazzamenti a punti che lo collocano al 10 posto della classifica senior. A presto, speriamo parlando di nuovi successi!
