[F1] Cinderella story of the season

11.09.2016 - Lamy's debut in WAR ended in a blast with the team getting the second best season result ever and Lamy getting 10th with 81 points, more than any other WAR driver before.
The race just finished and Lamy's still celebrating along with Johnny and the rest of the team but we'll try to get his word on this achievement.

[Int]: Tell us how do you feel about this race?
[Lamy]: Oh it was amazing, the mixed feelings though... I don't even know where to start, we were doing reasonably fine until that SC came in, it was a game changer, after that everyone went to the pits while we went before and we started overtaking everyone that was on the pits. After a couple of laps I found myself battling for the podium with Vanderpuije and Johnny was just 1 car away. We knew in advance WAR needed 20 points to pass SSR but we thought it'd never happen, we needed a miracle yet we were just on the right positions to get them and if any of us had a bad luck DNF we knew Audi would overtake us so it was a really nerve wracking moment. Unfortunately I gave in to the nerves, made a mistake in turn 8 and Batman overtook me, so it was literally a million dollar mistake. But it was still an incredible race, we got an astounding team result, I'm really happy for Johnny which almost doubled his points but mostly for WAR which is making the comeback my manager promised a long time ago.

[Int]: How about that 10th place overall?
[Lamy]: I was aiming for 13th or so, I had to be realistic with the car I had so being in the top10 is already a big win but what I'm really happy for is the team, great minds are running this team and I know it took its time but their efforts are finally paying off. I believe it's only a matter of time until we start to fight for podiums.

[Int]: How do you explain the difference in results when compared to your debut in F1 with OMR?
[Lamy]: Oh I don't think it'd be fair to compare the results, lts of things changed, we got a different qualification system, a new DRS system, as a driver I'm also much more mature than before, it's completely different I don't think we can look at both scenarios and draw conclusions. What I know is that I gave it all in every race.

[Int]: Is there someone you want to dedicate this result to?
[Lamy]: No one in particular but a numerous amount of people played a part in this result, couldn't leave without thanking the great Bornelas for all the effort he's been putting to provide me with the best car and strats, I might not follow them but I always consider them and have his word in high regard.
Tigermanalso gets my thanks, he likes (a lot!) to play the devil's advocate but that's something that's needed and I respect it too. Also the gif maniac.
Toturi's always ready to step up when Bornelas isn't around and he's the one behind WAR's sick designs!

*And Lamy goes off in Johnny's direction who's already enjoying a Sagres while hugging 2 pit girls and with a champagne bottle on the other hand. "You won this time you get to choose the girl!" - Johnny shouts at Lamy before getting kicked in the groins by one of the girls. Legend says Lamy took both girls...*
