Hei toverit!Voin ilokseni ilmoittaa että Montrealissa olemme päässeet nykyisten kuljettajiemme Arnaud Briandin ja Yrjö Altaan kanssa sopuun jatkosta ja teimme kaudeksi 23 uudet sopimukset heidän kanssaan. Alkukausi on Williamsille ollut todella vaikea muutamaa poikkeuskisaa lukuunottamatta pisteitä on hävitty liikaa muille tiimeille. Vaikka tilanne huolestuttaakin hieman, on automme todella kovassa iskussa jatkoa ajatellen ja myös molemmat kuskit ovat vaikeuksista huolimatta saaneet paljon pisteitä kasaan. Sovittiin kuljettajien kanssa että katseet käännetään pettymyksistä pois ja siirrytään eteenpäin kohti tavoitetta: Tallien kolmas sija suomalaistallille. Siirryttiin Megachromen rakentamiin Supertecin moottoreihin jotka olivat alitehoisia, päivitettyjä versioita Renaultin RS9 moottorista. Tämä tarkoitti että paitsi vuoden -97 alusta, myös moottori olivat käytännössä identtiset, muokattuna uusiin sääntöihin sopiviksi - Dominanssi Formula1 sarjassa menetettiin ja Williams siirtyi keskikastiin. Nyt Williams MRC tiimi haluaa kunnioittaa noita vaikeita aikoja ottamalla käyttöönsä saman värityksen, ehkäpä voimme vastata noihin korkeisiin odotuksiin 20 vuotta myöhemmin MRC:ssä!
