The essence of speed: Kubica and Guerra reached 40 poles (combined) in Formula 1!!!

13.04.2022 - A great day for Ferrari and for Formula 1. Kubica today took the pole in Paul Richard GP breaking the track record with a superb performance. It is not the first time for a Ferrari driver... so why it is so special? Because this pole is the number 40 (read "FORTY") taken by one of the fastest couple of drivers of the history of Formula 1: the couple composed by Robert Kubica the "Usurper" and by Vasco Guerra the "Red Rocket".

40 poles... this is a huge number if we consider that the two drivers are only 32 years old and that they have completed just 5 seasons combined till now. We have also to consider that they are racing in a Formula 1 age in which the top three teams have a different kind of chassis (Ferrari is "downforce", Red Bull is "speed" and Porsche is "neutral") and this should not help to do a long series of poles.

"They are the essence of speed" said the the Ferrari team manager Maxodent "they are quite different persons, but they have one thing in common: they are superfast. During qualifies usually I look at other teams and drivers times and I say to myself "wow, how can Robert and Vasco beat them..." but for forty times they have surprised me."

Both Kubica and Guerra are in the top twenty in drivers Formula 1 history pole standing. Guerra (18 poles) is 16th ex-equo with David Nalbandian while Kubica (22 poles) is 12th ex-equo with Enrique Morale Garcia, just one pole behind a certain Damon Michael Novikov.

"I feel so lucky to have these two tremendous talents driving our car" continues Maxodent "their capability to take the maximum speed from our Ferrari is rare... like an unicorn. Speed is an crucial skill for drivers, but they are competing with giant drivers and cars, if they will want to make the history of Formula 1 they will have to face hard challenges"

If Kubica and Guerra will create a dynasty, it will be called the "Unicorns Dynasty".
