Tesla Fan Championship - Season 6

14.02.2022 - The 6th edition of the “Tesla Fan Championship” just ended.

The championship went to Nádia Portocarrero, who has won 5 titles in 6 championships! Unlike the previous edition, this time the victory was very clear as she won 5 races and her closest competitor (Mauricio Cruz) won only twice.

However, in this edition the fight for second place was quite interesting! When reaching the last race, Mauricio Cruz was only 6 points ahead of Manuel Vicente. In the last race and with 4 laps to go, Manuel was ahead of Mauricio, which guaranteed him second place in the championship! On the next lap Mauricio overtakes but Manuel passes again! And with 2 laps to go, Mauricio overtakes. On the last lap, Manuel overtakes Mauricio again, but on the second to last turn, Mauricio returns to second place!
What an exciting ending!!!!! Inappropriate ending for the heart!

In the end, Nádia Portocarrero won the championship (5 victories and 10 podiums), Mauricio Cruz in 2nd (2 victories and 8 podiums), Manuel Vicente in 3rd (2 wins and 6 podiums). Behind was Vasco Guerra in 4th place (1 victory and 4 podiums). Matvey Sobolev finished in 5th place (1 podium). Jamie Thom finished in 6th place. Tomas Gois Rocha in 7th place. Felipe Campolargo[U] in 8th place followed by [U]Cameron McPherson in 9th and the somewhat faded Daniel da Silva Dias closing the top 10.

With her 5th title, Nádia Portocarrero further solidifies her position as the most successful driver at Tesla-FC, she leads with 2666 points, 23 wins, 49 podiums, 54 top 5, 57 top 10, 25 poles, 20 fastest laps.

In the under-23 category the title was much more disputed. Congratulations to Tomas Gois Rocha as he won the championship with 6 wins and 2 pole positions! The battle with Felipe Campolargo was very intense from start to finish!
The two were always very close to each other but in the last race Tomas made an out-of-this-world overtake on lap 4, winning the race.
Even if Felipe won 8 poles, Tomas was the fastest and deserved the win.

It is the 3rd title for Tomas who leaves the under-23 category next year. The 3rd place was attributed to Huguinho Silva who finished 3 races on the podium. Miguel de Monteiro finished in 4th place with 3 podiums as well. Shortly behind came the impressive Yolanda Carrapatelo with 1 podium (who is rumored to receive a lot of tips from a very well-known racer!). In 6th place came the also impressive Ricardo Trincão V with 3 podiums. Just ahead of Noé Nogueira. The best newcomer was Bruno Costa II in 8th place. In 9th place was Alex Clark and in 10th place Kilanji Aeon closed the top 10.

In the hall of fame, Tomas Góis Rocha dominates but there is strong competition, he has more points conquered (2515), more victories (21), more podiums (42), more top 5 (51), more top 10 (59) and fastest laps (23) and is the only driver with 3 U-23 titles. Felipe Campolargo is now the driver with the most poles.

The great champion Tomas Gois Rocha will now say goodbye to the Under-23 category, will Felipe Campolargo get his 2nd title before leaving the U-23? or maybe another rival emerges? In the main class, Nádia Portocarrero should remain as the great candidate for the 6th title but her younger rivals will certainly try to reach the title!
