Formula One World Champion John Cannon Joins Pegaso in Season 67
03.06.2026
-
Pegaso, Spain's Formula One Team, has just announced on their website that 34-year-old John Cannon, from Canada, will be part of their main driver lineup in Season 67 of My Racing Career.Compared to their prior +20 seasons of existence, where they scored a best finish of 6th in the standings, the Flying Horse squad has been enjoying success in the last six seasons of the current engine regulations. Those have provided them with their most competitive packages up to date, finishing in 4th, 6th, 6th, 4th, 4th and achieving their maiden podium in the Constructors' Standings in the recently finished season 65, with 3rd place and a comfortable advantage over direct rivals Senna and Toyota. ![]() During this period, Pegaso has also seen the first fruits of their Driver Development Programme, allowing Jaxton Blake, Remco Raveel and Jan Bonmatí to debut with the team. However, there was just one slight regret for Team Principal nicorz, who was unable to give John Cannon a seat and, instead, had to agree with Keiyote and Red Bull that Cannon would join the French team for the coming seasons. After four seasons outside, the now-experienced Canadian comes back home with 16 race wins, 36 podiums, 19 pole positions and a Drivers' World Championship under his shoulder, plus the ones that he achieves this season. Cannon will be joined by franchise driver Raveel, who most recently teamed up with Miłodziad Dobrychłop. Pegaso wants to take advantage of this press release to thank Leigh and his driver for their services. ![]() JOHN CANNON "Even though I've been off driving for another team for the start of my F1 career and was fully committed to trying to win titles, I still always followed Pegaso's progress closely. And I've been very impressed that the rise towards the top has continued. When a driver like my friend Remco would get involved in the fight between Red Bull and Porsche and occasionally finish ahead of me, I still couldn't help but smile and give him and them a congrats. It will be great fun to drive with him and work with everybody back at Pegaso starting next season, and hopefully, all of our experiences will combine to create something very special. I know everyone back at Pegaso still supported me while I got the chance to go chase a Drivers' Championship. I promised that if there was an opening here, I'd come back before I got too old, and it only seems right to do it next season, to finish off the peak of my career with the boys and girls I worked with growing up in the Driver Development Programme." REMCO RAVEEL "Driving for Pegaso these last few seasons has been quite the ride. Every year, our engineers somehow manage to build remarkable cars with limited resources. Maybe our greatest resource isn't material, but the incredible pool of drivers who've passed through this team. I've been fortunate to race alongside some of the finest talents on the grid, and each time you pick up something new to carry with you. Whether it's Hall of Famer Miłodziad Dobrychłop, hometown hero Jan Bonmatí, or World Champion John Cannon, Pegaso has always attracted exceptional people. And perhaps the team's greatest achievement is that all of them — after spreading their wings — eventually find their way back to the warm nest this team has become." nicorz - TEAM MANAGER "I'm very proud of everything John and his manager Keiyote have achieved so far. It was hard for them and me to accept that they would have to start this chapter in F1 away from home. That is why we've been working on his return for the past couple of seasons. Although season 67 will be challenging for Pegaso due to engine development, he's still relatively young, and I believe he still has some great moments ahead of him to enjoy." At the same time, the team has revealed the new design for the Pegaso 266 and 267 cars, the last ones from the current engine cycle. ![]() The contract signed by John Cannon ties him to Pegaso for the next two seasons (67-68), subject to the possibility of a third season. Remco Raveel will continue his relationship indefinitely, as stated in the agreement he signed in season 61. ABOUT THE DRIVERS Apart from what has been mentioned, John Cannon made his debut in open wheel in season 47, finishing third in the Rookie Series. His career has developed mainly in touring cars and stock cars, becoming Supercars champion in season 57 and two-time NASC Gold champion in seasons 61 and 62. On the other hand, Remco Raveel made his debut as a rally driver in season 47, where he won the WRS Junior before moving to NASC Silver in season 51. His career has primarily developed in stock cars, winning the NASC Gold series in season 58, although the following season he was runner-up in IndyCar, where he won the Indianapolis 500 on his first attempt. The Belgian driver made his Formula 1 debut with Pegaso in season 62, and has raced with the team since then, achieving 10 podiums that include a first-ever victory at the Bahrain Grand Prix in season 64.

F1 Season 65 Review: Winners and Disappointments
25.05.2026
-
<div align="justify&... this season review, “Winners” are drivers and teams who, in my opinion, exceeded expectations, while “Disappointments” are those who underperformed relative to their budget, potential, or pre-season projections. These labels should not be interpreted as definitive judgments on a driver’s or team’s overall quality, talent, or long-term ability. A “Disappointment” designation can simply reflect a difficult stretch of results caused by mistakes, mechanical failures, ...
