Massiara Wraps Up Consistent 911 Supercup Debut, Eyes New Challenge in Spain

English 10.03.2026 -

After completing his first full campaign in the highly competitive 911 Supercup, Indonesian driver Rafa Massiara closed out a debut season defined by consistency and steady development. Competing against some of the most experienced GT drivers on the international stage, Massiara scored points in 19 out of 20 races throughout the year.

The season marked an important transition in the young driver’s career after previous experience in the F4 Rookie Series and the F3 World Series. With his first GT campaign now complete, Massiara is already preparing for a new challenge in the TCS Ibérico Series next season.

Q: Rafa, how would you describe your first season in the 911 Supercup?
Rafa Massiara: It was a very positive season for us. Every race weekend we learned something new and improved step by step. The level in the 911 Supercup is extremely high, so the main goal was to keep developing and stay consistent. By the end of the season I felt much more comfortable with the car and the racing style.

Q: You scored points in 19 out of 20 races. That level of consistency is impressive. How did you achieve it?
Rafa Massiara: Preparation plays a huge role. I always try to stay physically ready because endurance and focus are very important in GT racing. This year I upgraded my gym membership so I could join more classes and improve different aspects of my fitness. At the same time, it is also about the team. My mechanics and engineers did a great job all season. When everyone works together and the car is well prepared, it really helps with consistency.

Q: You previously raced in the F4 Rookie Series and the F3 World Series before switching to GT racing in the 911 Supercup. What led to that move?
Rafa Massiara: After my F3 World Series season I felt that I had learned many of the basics of single seater racing. My long term dream is still to reach the F1 World Series, and to get there you need more than just raw pace in a formula car. Racing in the 911 Supercup allows you to develop racecraft, learn how to compete against experienced drivers, and work in a very professional racing environment. Those things help you grow as a driver.

Q: What were some of the biggest challenges you faced during the season?
Rafa Massiara: Mostly technical challenges. The car behaves very differently compared to a formula car, especially with weight transfer and tire management. Understanding the setup and how to manage the car during longer races took time, but it was a great learning experience.

Q: Stepping away from racing for a moment. Living in Europe and being far from Indonesia must be a big adjustment. How have you handled that?
Rafa Massiara: It was not easy in the beginning. This is my second year living in Europe, mainly in the Netherlands, and many things are different from Indonesia. The food, the weather, and the lifestyle are all new experiences. But over time you get used to it. Now I feel more comfortable living here and managing the travel that comes with racing.

Q: You mentioned this is your second year in Europe. What feels different compared to your first year?
Rafa Massiara: The biggest difference is that I now have friends here. During my first year everything was new and I did not really know many people. Now I have friends from the gym, cafes, and around the racing community, which makes life here much easier.

Q: Looking ahead, what are your plans for next season?
Rafa Massiara: I think this might surprise some people. Next season I will move to Spain to compete in the TCS Ibérico Series. We have secured our funding through partnerships and our financial planning is already in place. The idea is to manage the budget carefully so that when the timing is right, we can make the move to the F2 World Series.

Q: How are you preparing for that move to Spain?
Rafa Massiara: I have already spent some time racing there. I drove at Monteblanco during my F4 Rookie Series season, and I raced in Barcelona during both my F3 World Series and 911 Supercup campaigns. I really like the atmosphere there and I am excited about the idea of living in Spain. Right now I am focusing on the off season. I will be traveling back to Indonesia soon to spend some time at home before starting preparations for next season.

After a debut season built on consistency and steady progress, Rafa Massiara now turns his attention to a new chapter in Spain. With international experience growing and a clear long term plan in place, the Indonesian driver continues to build momentum toward the next stage of his racing career.
