Oh, Hey There. Remember me?

07.11.2021 - It's me, that guy. Used to run the 15-Way Series. F1 Commissioner for something like... 18 or 19 seasons? It was that long ago that I can barely remember a lot of things, but a lot memories still stick with me! There's no script to this press release either, so don't expect something that'll turn me into a professor at Harvard University tomorrow!

A couple weeks ago I logged in for the first time since... pfft, maybe Season 34 or 35 as I went through a little bit of a rough time. I was balancing life and MRC at the same time, fulfilling my role as Commissioner, maintaining the then 15-Way Series, and a whole other bunch of things I'm not really keen on talking about. Altogether made it extremely difficult to find the motivation to even log in at times!

That was late 2019. Holy moly, quite a heap changed since then. I've moved out of the parent's house and I've left Melbourne altogether. I'm unofficially a 'Country Boy' as we call it in our neck of the woods, however I still haven't included that in my tinder profile yet. Maybe that's why I'm not getting as many matches, I dunno.

At the start of a certain global pandemic I was a mechanical apprentice, but that didn't last long. Now I work on a dairy farm which is bigger than some countries in the world. It's certainly not how I envisioned things at about this time 2 years ago, but hey!

So in the recent past, I started to ask myself why shouldn't I come back and see what's popping in the MRC Community? But already I've been welcomed back and it's starting to feel like in a way I've never left. The main way that I recognise it's been so long is by going into the forums, into the standings, and noticing some of the names that dominated the big series when I was last here, are no longer active.

Some of the first people I got back in touch with first included DebiK (even though we're friends on Facebook!), some of the Australian managers who I haven't heard from in 2 years, also some of the managers who were legends back in the day organising their countries for the 15-Way Series. You can bet your bottom dollar I sent a few hello's to some of the boys from the old Rage Motorsports. I'd need to fact check but I wouldn't be surprised if 1 or 2 date back to the beta days of MRC.

I on the other hand created Trevor Harvey at some point in Season 9 back in 2014. Back then, I was still in high school, If you told me I'd have gone on and done what I'd go on to do with the community over the next 5 seasons, I'd tell you you'd had a few too many beers.

LittleMLO's back though, and it sounds like a good idea to make up for lost time. Coming right up is a revamped 10-Way Series starting this Saturday! There are a couple of teething troubles but otherwise the party bus is back in action! Song requests are on, so let's enjoy the ride again!
