Facts and stats

08.11.2013 - Hello everyone, today we decided to bring you something different, something special. Why? Because in Blazefp Magazine we are original and awesome and we like to award people every now and then.

And so was born the Facts and Stats. Here we'll talk about everything that can be preceded by most, highest, lower or least!
So let's get started:


Speed Records

Highest AS* track - Daytona International Speedway! It's one of the most famous and longest oval in the world. Located in Florida, USA, has 4,023km of asphalt and the best AS ever witnessed on a lap was made by Philippe de Saint-Germain Jr with a staggering 346,561km/h after a 41,790s qualification attempt.

Lowest AS track - Circuit de Monaco!. More precisely on Monte Carlo, it has 3,340km of length and 18 sharp corners which have claimed many lives including the famous F1 legend, Ayrton Sena.
The current best AS recorded in this track was only 132,862km/h achieved again by Philippe de Saint-Germain Jr after 1:30,500s on the track.

Continent with fastest AS - North America! Thanks to its numerous ovals it holds an average speed record of 207,890km/h.

Continent with slowest AS - South America! Its AS record of only 168,329km/h can be explained due to their short non-oval tracks.


Lenght Records

Longest track - Circuit de la Sarthe! Also known after his location name - Le Mans - this incredibly long circuit is home to the toughest race in existence - the 14h Le Mans. It's 13,629km long and has 38 corners! The best time ever achieved there was 3:35,814s by Laimnesis Kauss, with an AS of 226,991km/h.

Shortest track - Martinsville Speedway! Only 0,847km long, this is a track shorter than many athletic circuits. The track's time record is 18,872s set by Jean Eric Alexandre Vergne with a AS of 161,573km/h.

Continent with longest tracks - Asia! Gets an average of 4,707km per track, longer than most tracks!

Continent with shortest tracks - North America! Again, due to its numerous ovals which are usually short, this (sub)continent manages an average track length of only 3,056km.


Time records

Longest track - Circuit de la Sarthe! Not surprisingly, each lap in this track takes a lot longer than in any other.

Shortest track - Bristol Motor Speedway! You would expect it to be Martinsville Speedway again wouldn't you? Well you guessed wrong! With 0,858km it's only slightly larger but it's wide corners give it faster laps. The record stands at 14,244s on a qualification lap of Léa Poucette which translates on an AS of 216,849km/h.
