Is consistency the key to this years British F3 Championship?

28.01.2014 - No. Speed and consistency are the keys.

Right now perfectly demonstrated by G. Brammer, who is leader in the Championship in front of Ben Solo.

Solo demonstrated magnificent racing pace in the long runs, but still lacks the qualifying speed, to keep up with top qualifying drivers like Brammer or young Ray Striver.

As close the Championship was after the first six races, now we have Brammer leading, Solo and Striver struggling to keep up with him on second and third.

How did we get into this? Well, Brammer simply won the past five races. Even though Solo and Striver constantly finishing on the podium or atleast in the Top5, Brammer's advantage got very big by now.

"First, we thought it was the chassis, which suited the tracks better than ours did. Now we are starting to hope for some DNFs." (Solo grins)

In fact 19 points seperate first and second and it is not that bad as Solo describes it, even though he was joking. But if Brammar keeps on winning Solo might be right...

Now as you know we are in the middle of the season with ten more races to come and a lot more to happen.

Taking a look besides the action on track, the paddock is full of rumors as this years silly season started in a proper way.

Celebrating his podium finish with Ray Striver, Ben Solo announced his retirement from F3 and he stated his ambition to form a team in F1, together with Striver.

Although, at this point of celebrations the Booze was taking more decisions than Solo himself, this may be a possible outcome which depends on finances and sponsorship and only on finances and sponsorship to raise a team and compete in F1.

There is no doubt, that both are highly talented and could be the first fully British Team with both British drivers since McLaren a couple of years ago.

But let us not dream about tomorrow's Championship in F1. The present is British F3 and it is unlikely that we won't report any of Solo's and Striver's racing or bachelorhood adventures.
